Sad update I'm afraid. After a good Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning when he was hungry and cheerful he went backwards again in the afternoon. He came to sleep in the office (tack room) with me and the dogs which is unusual but the dogs were good and he spent the afternoon snoozing on one of their beds. But when I finished work and picked him up he vomited a clear liquid all over me, no warning, it was just like the pressure and movement caused it to spill out of him. So I decided enough and took him to the vets this morning for the last time. I stayed with him so I know he really did have a peaceful end.

In hindsight I wish I'd done it sooner, but I was really really hoping he could recover.

Thanks for all your support, especially Fatty Carrie Catty 😘

You were the owner that every cat deserves. I'm so sorry that you have lost your beloved companion. I woke up Chatty Carrie Catty to tell her. She sends deep condolences and wishes me to tell you that she has a hot line to King Kevin Kat. He will ensure that when your cat flies in, on the wings of an eagle, he will have a banquet of fricassee mouse for entre, stuffed chicken for mains and double cream for pudding. Roast rat's legs for amuse bouche and milk to drink. After that, they will lounge round Cat Heaven, and see who they can annoy. God loves cats. As far He's concerned, they can do no wrong for All Eternity.
RIP lovely cat. Pain-free for ever.

So sorry it didn't turn out better, I know what you mean when you say you wished you had done it sooner, that's the thing with hindsight but you can't know the future at the time, just know that you tried everything you could and made the tough decision when you had to. If only more animals had owners that were strong enough to do that. Sending hugs xx

Thank you everyone for being so kind. I missed him tonight when I was mixing the horses' feeds, he had a habit of coming to see me and distracting me from my duties while I was doing that. Such a sweet boy. If you wouldn't mind asking Chatty Carrie Catty to mention to King Kevin Kat that my Kat is a little bit shy. I'm sure he'll love the banquet ahead though, it nearly made me cry thinking how much he would have loved that 🥲

Chatty Carrie Catty has been on the Celestial Cat Communication System to King Kevin Kat. He wishes you to know that as a cat called Kat, he already has a very large head start in the Excellent Afterlife journey.
He enjoyed the welcome banquet, charmed the Feline Angels, had a supervised snoop round God's study, found the stash of Heavenly Dreamies, took part in Smarm Angel Kat training to ensure clear communication at all times (Fooood! Nooow!!). Apparently, he's a quick study!
He and King Kevin Kat may drop by in Spirit, but at the moment, they're having too much fun!

I'm so sorry to see your update. It is never easy to know when to call time and its even harder with a young animal, because you want to give them every chance of recovery. You were guided by your vet but hindsight is wonderful. You did the best you could and made the right decision when it was obvious that there would be no recovery. No animal could wish for better.

I have just caught up. I am so sorry that he didn't make it. You tried your absolute best for him though and put him first which was the the kindest thing to do.

Please don't be hard on yourself, he had a peaceful last day and a dignified, quiet end. He was loved and cared for and had everything a cat could ask for.

I'm sorry it hurts so much to lose him, I hope that fades a bit soon.
