Ok so got some Relequine for Snowy for the dentist today, was delivered on Tuesday by the vet who came to do vaccination, instructions on the box thanks very much.
On the box instructions say 3mls to be administered 45 mins before handling. Now when I rang up to book vet and pay for the relequine they knew it was for snowy, a 10.2 Shetland, so when I open the box this morning and read the leaflet it says to give a 600Kg horse 2.5 mls so I think giving 3 to snowy would have disastrous!
I spoke to a fellow livery who has used relequine before and she gave her 17hh+ hunter type 3 with a top up of 2 so 5mls in all and that didn't work as well as she'd have liked so I made an executive decision and gave Snowy 1.5mls which was plenty.
I couldn't believe it really as how many people would trust their vets and just administered it as it said on the box?! Another livery I showed said she wouldn't have thought to check the leaflet and just did waht the vets had put on the label. I suppose I'm wondering if I should mention it to my vets or not?
