Hiya - I posted recently about looking for a TB to bring on and eventually event. I may have found one (!) (4 yo, lightly raced, had downtime in the field now back in ridden work, never had any injuries in training). The problem is vetting - I just phoned the vets I wanted to use and they've said they're still waiting for an announcement about whether vettings will go ahead considering the new lockdown.

My question is what would you guys do? I thought about maybe suggesting a loan until it can be vetted, or for a fixed period after which, if all goes well, I would pay the price agreed upon now.. Really not sure.. Welcome any thoughts!

Would the owner be willing to wait until you've had confirmation from your vets re vetting? As this will be an issue for any potential purchaser keen to vet I should think.

get a vetting, even if you have to wait until this lockdown ends.
Unless you are only spending what you are happy to loose, happy to pay for vet work for a crock or shoot it.

The problem with loan until vetted is that if the horse gets injured in your care, you can just hand it back.
My guess is that veterinary services will be a little more normal during this lockdown. Protocols have improved and vets should know biosecurity better than most! Other option is to call around and try to get a vetting pre Thursday?
