WWYD?

I find my Petzl head torch really bright, I tend to wrap it round my wrist though, and you can angle it to point down cos I find if I call my dog she auto looks at my face and I don't like blinding her, on my wrist I have the control to point it away when she looks and you can still hold the lead with it.

Someone said about this website for flashing collars and stuff

I have just got one of these - it is amazing! Really bright halogen bulbs for hands free dog walking! Yay :)

They also do a fleece lined version that's waterproof and has earflaps.

I walk mine round farmland where I keep the horse in the dark, it's a bit hairy when they bugger off after something and i'm left on me tod

Also there's a 2 mile stretch of country lane there where they get binned out of the truck and run alongside. You can see if anything else is coming to get out and grab them but it's hardly used as dead end :)

I also do crack of dawn, dreading the clocks changing :(

Equafleece do a hi viz neckerchief which I would have thought would be better than a collar for a long haired dog and I've seen some really bright flashing LED tabards in saddleries - Horseware used to do one but I'm not sure if you can still get it.

Just remember to look down when a car comes towards you if you are wearing a head torch, there's someone near us who always looks straight at the car and really dazzles me
