I have Chester on loan from my husbands uncle and auntie.
Both are not in the best of health and have said to my mother in law that they are thinking of selling everything and kind of semi retiring. They have about 6 horses in total including Chester. Their children have lost all interest in riding and so their horses are just field ornaments.
About a year ago they offered me Chester for £2000 including his wardrobe. At the time I knew I would be fine to have him as long as I wanted as they were in good health and had no worries.
The thing is I am getting a compensation payout soon of £1000. I was going to use the money to have a holiday for hubby and I, but now this has all happened and the threat of loosing Chester is making me re think.
Chester really is my horse of a lifetime as we both learn from each other and while he will never be the best he's really good for me.
I'm wondering if I should offer to buy Chester for £1000 but send his tack etc back and buy a cheap saddle until I can afford a nice one.
His tack alone is worth nearly £1000, as its all GFS leather and is nearly new.
