I decided the PN ponioes should pop a few x.c fences before Buckminster, so I tootled of to Aylesford for a play, Laura came to with one of hers and to ride one for me, First pair poped round really nicely, Legs 100% better in new bit nose band combo.
Next two popped round really nicely - went on our own as L's horse is a bit crazy
.
Then did Cib last, she was going beautifully round to the water, went straight on to the jetty to pop off the step -she wont do the little one as she thinks you dont need to because we learnt to walk in from that side next to it, so just causes a paddy and fight thats not worth having. Any way, she jumped quite big off the step, landed then totally lost her feet, nose dived, and went down, thankfully due to her forward keeness (which caused it to happen) she threw me clear as she went right down on her side and nearly rolled right over
she scrambled up - amazingly not standing on me (what a nice horse!! ) and trotted all the way back to the boxes - back the way we had come , bless her!! while I did the walk of shame out of the water
lucky they were working on the ground down there so I got a lift back to the lorry - where she was stood at the bottom of the ramp looking VERY sorry for her self, poor mare!!
I jumped back on and took her back to the water, it took a long time to get her confident in water and I was convinced I had just undone all the months of getting her to trust me
but.... she walked up to the step and very carefully popped down it
I did it a few more time to make sure and she was fine - infact better than before as now carefull!!!!
Im gutted I dont have a picture as I think it would have looked good - mum was stood on top of the hill, the water is at the bottom of it quite a long way a way and she said the splash was HUGE ... well 17hh of solid WB mare would cause a splash
My poor baby has grazed the end of her nose, the top of her eye, a tiny bit on her shoulder, and sightly grazed her knees, so can she have some vibes and crossed fingers for her to be fine in the morning , I desperately hope she is not to bruised and sore!!
