My daughter wants to take her loan horse to x-country schooling over the summer. I know about Pachesham but are there any other places in Surrey she could try? Preferably not too far away from the A3 to make her first couple of trips out with him as stress-free as possible. Thanks

Depending on heights wanted, all the below are in an hours drive from you:
Munstead
Parwood
Tweseldown
Gassons
Chase Farm
Wheatlands
and the farm ride at Woolgars
There are others too , some are further out, but currently much of the ground is v hard (tho some have good take off and landing)

Not sure where you are in surrey, but to add to above, I can't imagine Littleton Manor is too far from you. A couple of places in Kent that might be within reasonable distance depending where you're based: Bonfleur (Maidstone) and Lodge Farm (Matfield), I've been to both of those recently and the ground is excellent considering the weather.

Thanks everyone:) - Parwood, Littleton Manor and Gasstons are all nice and close and look great and she’s going to Munstead for a clinic in a few weeks so will get to try out the course there too. This is her first summer with her (nearly) own horse so she’s very excited! I’m fairly clueless but trying to learn ...

What height are we talking about? the Mid surrey pony club (or MSDH PC if you are as old as me) also have a course for hire.

Slades farm have a brand new XC course. Brilliant for schooling.

A bit further out but absolutely well worth the trip is Rogate. Just off the A3 at Petersfeild the course covers a massive area of land with options for pretty much everything from 50cm to Novice. East Bhysse is nice - but a bit more sussex than surrey.

The farm ride at woolgars it a lot of fun - but you need another person mounted. Its too far on foot.

Lots of options!
