I have a 15.1 connemara and he has a good amount of bone. Wondering which xc boots people find fit well with horses like him as I find the right width tends to be too long. I have Premier Equine air cooled xc in medium and they are only just wide enough but the length is absolute max that would fit and the hinds always seem to twist or fall half way through a hunt or xc session. They are done up tight so wonder if the fit is just wrong. Cob sizes are always too fine for him for boots, bridles etc - who makes proper cob siized stuff? Thanks x

Watching with interest as daughter has a NF x Appaloosa who is of the same height. I was looking the PE boots and also the Le Mieux ones. It's an expensive mistake if they twist, etc.

Might depend how fine your daughter's horses legs are. My friend has a warm blood and the PE boots work v well on him. Its the slightly stockier horses I think many horsey brands don't cater well for.

I saw someone recently had started making boots in a wide fit size for these cases, I think it was NEW but not certain.

PE event boots are pretty rubbish on most types of horses IME. They twist and slip all over the shop.

For short chunky legs have a look at N.E.W, they do a lightweight xc boot that comes in a shorter but wider fit
