Hi, I was wondering what boots people use for xc as I am hoping to start eventing this coming season.
I was looking at the New equine wear xc airflow boots and the Equilibrium Impact sports boots in particular.
I don't want to buy anything that is too expensive that isn't going to do the job!

I've got the Premier Equine aircooled boots which I rate very highly. Extremely durable, lightweight, don't hold water and don't rub or slip. Fanastic value for money and still look like new after four years,

I have the Dalmar event boots which I really like

Carbon fibre tendon guards and air flow system so they're light, tough, his legs don't seem to get too warm and most importantly they don't move at all. I use them for team chasing and any other xc we do and have found them really good. Easy to clean too - just hose off - which is a bonus :)

I have just bought some premier equine air cooled event boots for my 4yr old and I'm really impressed with them! They are really well made and lightweight.

I only bought fronts as couldnt afford all 4 but I will certainly be investing in the hinds before our eventing debut in April!

I was really impressed with the service too I ordered on 27th December paid for standard delivery and received less than 24 hrs later the next day! And it was in between Xmas and new year!

I had planned to use them today but think horsey has tweaked her back :(

I may try the premier equine boots as they're in the sale right now and I have heard only good things about them!
I have heard about the carbon fibre in the Dalmar boots shattering and injuring the horse so not too keen on them but a great idea!
Thank you

the NEW airflow ones just dont look tough enough for xc to me. I have used the lightweight competition boots by NEW before and they were fab.

Im not sure the equilibrium ones look substantial enough either IMHO :)

I currently use prolites on the back and premier equine ones on the back (the BL1's) and absolutely cant fault them at all.

I have used Premier Equine in the past, the normal ones were more durable than the vented ones, which fell apart after a few washes. But the fronts on both rotated unless done up very tight and caused my mare to have a fat leg. So now I use EcoGold ones all round and I love them. Just enough padding to them, don't budge an inch and the strike guards aren't too long, so no rubbing or fat legs.

I seem to have gone through an awful lot of XC boots over the past few yrs. Premier Equine were the worst. The NEW lightweight XC front boots are nice - I still use them for hacking now they look a bit worn but I'd buy another set - the back ones were too long for my horse and creased up and split. Then I got Style ones but they have frayed quite a lot and look a bit scruffy now. Just bought some Equilibrium ones - the new ones they've brought out this yr as post tendon injury paranoid about his tendons getting too hot. Legs stay very cool and they fit well and dont slip. They look as substantial as other lightweight types so we'll see how they hold up to eventing.
