XC Colours - A Few Questions!

It's my birthday soon so I was thinking of asking for a set of XC colours. I don't plan to do a huge amount of XC, the odd HT, ODE and maybe some arena eventing but I'm never going to be an 'eventer' as such (SJ is more my thing!).

What is the best type to go for? I presume long sleeved? Fitted style?

Where is the best place to buy from? I would want a shirt, hat silk and possible saddle cloth depending on what colours I go for.

Do people tend to wear them over or under their BP?

I am slightly worried about ordering the wrong size as obviously being custom made they can't be returned, are they quite true to size?

Last but not least, I don't actually know what colours I want! Options are Navy and Pink, Navy and Baby blue or dark green and gold/yellow but am open to more suggestions.

This is the main horse they will be used on, doubt my old fella will go XC again and I don't plan on getting another horse any time soon *touches wood madly in the hope that nothing happens to current horses*

http://www.custom-xc.com/ I got mine here and I love them! Fairly reasonable in comparison to treehouse and endless colour/design combinations, wash well and everything matches so nicely.
I am baby blue and navy stars, a fitted long sleeved top with a pom pom on my silk! Always wear mine under the body protector as they're fitted so looks smarter.
I would definitely go for long sleeves as some rules don't permit bare arms, but you could always go for a short sleved one and wear a base layer in matching colours underneath on colder days. Before my current ones I had a sweathshirt and it was gorgeous but I got very hot and sweaty! Size wise I Custom-XC did it in 8, 10, 12 etc and it came up just right.

Custom xc for me too. I got a silk as well. Navy with light blue stars. Fitted long sleeve shirt. I didn't bother with stars on the front / back of the top as BP goes over. I'm going to order a short sleeve in the same style. The size fitted perfectly.
 
I have a treehouse hat silk and love it!! (My top is one I had made) For this Xmas I decided to get my sister (who only does a few hunter trails a year) some simple xc colours, I used Custom XC and they are brill!!!
 
Mine are from Custom XC. Bright pink with sparkly black stars and a pompom on top of my hat!

True to size with a bit of stretch.

Mine are from gggear and are fab. I've had mine about 18 months and are still wash up like new. I have light blue with black stars and a matching hat silk.
