I have fiddled around with my XC colours a fair bit this last year but still not happy with them. Started with a green/black rugby shirt and a black Racesafe BP with a green/black quartered hat silk. Then I bought a plain dark green long sleeved t-shirt and a plain dark green hat silk with a dark green saddlecloth but found it all looked a bit dark in the photos.

So then I bought a bright green point2 and tried that with the dark green long sleeved t-shirt but didn't like the combo of different greens:

So finally went back to the green/black rugby shirt and hat silk and changed to a white saddlecloth.

I fancy something a bit more snazzy though. Obviously need to keep the green point 2 and black Racesafe but can change the rest! Was looking at this website:
http://www.custom-xc.com/

thinking about base colour black and getting lime green stars on the hat and sleeves of the shirt. not sure if this will look good or not though or if the lime green will clash with the point 2? and if i do go for that, do I go long sleeved polo shirt or long sleeved t-shirt and unisex or ladies fitted? And most importantly lol - to go for a pom pom or not?

oh yeah, and horsey wears black boots with bright green tape round them if that makes any impact!

thanks!

The Treehouse silks (the not-lycra ones) are brilliant- Al was treated to one at Burghley this year and it looks brilliant- really bright! But she sticks with plain arms in dark blue, using a base shirt that rugby players use. Makes her hat stand out more!

I'd get in contact with these guys http://www.*************.co.uk/
They're very helpful/ active on twitter and Facebook do I'm sure they could help you and I know that there new baselayer style tops are just about to be released in more colours/ designs so you could be one of the first to sport them around your area ;)
I think Sarah jane is sponsored by them too so she might be able to help you too

Got my girls from NagRags. She has a bright blue which looks fantastic in pictures (am on my phone & can't find one but I'm sure there's one in my photo album on profile)

She's on her 4th year wearing it too & its still like new :D

I have NagRags too, in a bottle green/navy/white stripe (horse also chestnut). Had this set a few years now and it's wearing really well, it looks bright and would go well with a green point two. I have mathcing saddlecloth which I tend to wear for HT but other events put a white one on. Might not be what you're after but I can send you a pic via pm if you like.

I actually think your combo of stuff in the last pic looks ace - to me, a green/black silk, black top and green point two look great together!

I think if you were going to go down the route of having something printed on the sleeves etc you would have to be certain it was the same green as the rest because then like before, you'll only get irritated with it and some of these bespoke xc tops are very expensive to make a mistake with!

Personally, Im a plain jane with regards xc gear :) navy silk, black point two (couldnt justify the extra expense of a navy one on an already expensive bit of kit) and navy blue tight fitting top which was 1.50 from primark!

I use jellybeanz, the hat covers are brilliant fit and value. They also custom made my design for the same price as the standard designs. Also very quick delivery too :)

I've played around with the custom xc website so much, I think I have an addiction!

If I were you I'd go for the unisex or ladies long sleeved tee, black base with green and white stars up the arms. Then I'd have a black base on the hat with white and green stars around there too.

I like a bit of white to brighten it up and to match the white numnah which I think looks smart.

All comes to a total of £41 or £44 with a (green) pom pom :D

I like my Treehouse original tops - mine has stars up the sleeves and I have a matching silk from them too. I'd really like one of their bespoke ones - not sure I can justify the expense though (unless I can't fit into the old one when I try it on again after the winter..... carries on eating the flapjacks on her desk). I like Rising-promise's suggestions.

To pom-pom or not...? A friend of mine once said the only reason she had time penalties xc one day was because she was wearing her new silk with the pom-pom and it created too much wind resistance :)

It's good to be a bit different from other competitors - as a starter/time keeper at a few BE events it's so nice to be able to quickly identify which horse is finishing, especially if there has been an overtake or non finisher on the course - you can't always see numbers clearly so we always note colours or other identifying items. When everybody is in navy or black it gets confusing especially in bad light!

I have the treehouse event shirt (the one with the stock collar) and it is fabulous. I also have a matching silk for the hat. Really love it, well worth the money. Mine was a birthday present too!

I've got some from equester and love them!! They were really helpful with choosing, had a massive choice of colours and you can do literally any design you want on them. They have quite a lot to choose from or you can just send them your ideas.
I also wanted a treehouse one as I had my heart set on a check one and they were the only ones that seemed to do it. But I got my lovely orange and navy check with hatsilk for less than the price of a treehouse top. I love it because its so unique and individual :)

I splashed out on the Treehouse xc stock shirt and hat silk (with ties) and I LOVE IT has worn well too, and I don't think it will wear too quickly as it does only get used for the xc phase :)

ok, think I have decided to go for the Treehouse ones and get them for my birthday so can splash out on the event shirt as would quite like a shirt I could wear for all 3 phases - never seem to have enough time between phases so less clothes changing would be good. Also, they seem to have the right shade of green to match the Point 2 and it will only drive me nuts if it doesn't match properly.

Now, final decision, to have black sleeves with green stars and a black hat silk with green stars/pom pom or green sleeves with black stars and a green hat silk with black stars/pom pom. I am sooooo hopeless at making decisions!

Just wondered if anyone can help with the sizing of custom xc tops, looking at the unisex tee but not sure whether to go for a small or medium, I am about a 8/10 top but prefer top not to be on the tight side :)
