Went shopping at Badminton to buy a pair of XC hind boots for my 16.1 KWPN. I had planned to get a pair of the new Trizone ones but they only come in 1 size which was far too long for my horse.

I couldnt find any other boots that I liked. Wondering now if I should order from Premier Equine - but which one? Or should I go for Prolite? I like the air-cooledness of PE but Prolite seem quite robust.

Ideas/experiences?

I really like Prolites too, but am using my ancient Lucinda Green speedicut boots behind - they give good coverage and are tough enough to withstand knocks.

I use the prolites and think they are fab, never move or slip, wash well and not too bulky.

Me too, though I use Sabre boots behind for Carthorse as his legs are very chunky and most things slip or are too short.

I bought the tri zone ones - tried them on my 15.2 who has a a bit of bone on him, but not alot, and while they weren't too long, they weren't wide enough - think the inside is quite hard too and might rub - so took them back

Ordered PE ones on friday, and they arrived this morning...will be interesting to see how they fair

eta - the PE air cooled hind boots are actually in the sale section for under 30quid - thought they'd be a good way to ensure fit and sizing before buying more expensive ones

wouldn't touch the PE ones with a big, long bargepole - they're complete shite! i bought a set last yr at Blenheim, used them 10 times XC and they fell to pieces, sent them back to PE who sent me a new set and these have done the same. followed the washing directions exactly, and they're just rubbish.

invested in a set of N.E.W. ones at Badminton and used them for a sponsored ride on Sunday - they look really good quality, styled similar to the PE ones but actually made in England so hopefully they will last a bit longer as they were twice the price!
