Wwaterford with a cartwheel - Is this legal for xc. I have looked in the rule bok but it does not mention it. I am quite confused as it states the bits opposite are ONLY allowed but not even a f=dutch gag is there and I am sure that is legal...isn't it

The cartwheel bits I really like actually, Goddy has got a Nathe one now for fast work

Much nicer than the Dutch gags IMHO.

A waterford Dutch gag is allowed for PC jumping, not for dressage though.

I would think the cartwheel waterford would be fine. For XC BE pretty much anything goes.

Yes Cartwheel waterford is fine for Pony Club.... jumped a pony in one for years and we jump Pip in it too

I did BE in one few years ago too

What bits can't you have for FEI pony eventing?

Sorry just looked at the PC rules and it says "Gags - snaffle, Continental and American may be used with a smooth, Cherry Roller or Waterford mouthpiece" so they must have changed it at some point without me noticing.

It doesn't specifically mention cartwheel bits anywhere but it does say "Any equipment not covered in these Rules must be referred at least two weeks in advance of the competition to The Pony Club Office" so it might be worth giving them a ring to make sure.
