Last nite we were having general chit chat at yard and i was amazed by my friend who in her time has jumped uba huge sj tracks, ridden/school p2p and hunted. But she was saying not keen and just didn't know how to ride a BE xc course fences with steps, ski jumps etc...
As trying to get yard team chase team up together, but she's was defo capable, but was saying but 'How do you ride these fence??? ' (KICK ON

)

Which truely surprised me as, Xc phase is defo my strongest phase (as hunted alot) and then i get to sj and turn into a wibbly wobbly mess.

What's your strong phase and why do you think it is???

I think I'm probably more scared of SJ and worse at it than XC.. I do more SJing though.

Not like a team chase will be overly technical!

SJ I seem to go round in a flurry to get in over and done (goodness knows how I go clear). I just get a bit more nervous. Saying that, I am learning to keep my head in a SJ round now

XC you have longer time to think as there is not a fence every 5 strides! I find it more fun and dont get as nervous ( maybe to do wit the fact that everyone isn't standing around the edge watching you!)

Stongest is definately show jumping - probably because its what we do most of. I love xc, but we are less consistent at it. We're working on it though.
I hate dressage and am pretty useless at it too. I think its because I don't get any adrenalin from it so it always tends to be a bit flat.

im sh*t at sj-ing mildred flies round like a bullet tryong to get into her xc gallop!!! i just look like a little rat clinging on!!
i prefure xc because its not in an enclosed space-because i dont have much controll

yet xc its me kicking on and mildred sits up and looks at everything!!

i much prefer the xc to the sj. i'd happily have a crack at riding round Badders (on a good horse i knew well!) but the thought of a 1.30 sj track terrifies me. let alone bigger, ugh. weird, i know. i can get pretty nervous before the sj, even at low levels, whereas i don't usually before the xc.
but then, i've had a LOT of fun riding round xc, with a grin from ear to ear, and i can't ever remember having a spare second in a sj round to think "this is fun".

I don't have a strongest phase but fally downy jumps are scarier than solid ones!

I agree! I get far more stops SJ'ing as Charlie and I know to treat solid fences with respect.
