Wow, this is my first write up of a competition on here... I'm prone to talking lots so be prepared!

We arrived and warmed up really nicely over the three XC fences in the warm up area. Nice and brave/bold- not quite what I was expecting but I was pleased.
Off we went to *coughs* 1ft9 class which he's done once before and refused at least half the course last year...
Got round most of it really well; had one refusal at a stone wall and with a bit of grit and growl we got over it, through 'sherwood forest' (nice work in there Severnmiles

) and carried on over a bridge to some wooden barrel tops which he refused once I think, or might have gone over, can't remember! Into the timed section with no style whatsoever and out the other side... Got all the way to the last fence which was 'thomas the tank' blue and red and he refused that once too. So I was absolutely chuffed to bits- he'd been such a brave boy!

Next was the 2ft3 show jumping and we went clear

Off back to the mini-plus course which was 2ft3 and again he was on grand form! Flying most of it but getting a bit unstuck at some fences- the bigger stone wall was refused once but flown the second time... he refused the bigger barrels too once but did it second time... headed off to the bottom of the field and was flying towards the coffin- popped the rail lovely, a bit too much pace to the ditch- he caught sight of it too late and I did the most amazing somersault in the air- stood up shouted to the jump judge "That was spectacular" took a bow and went to get back on. Meanwhile the photographer came running towards me shouting "I got every frame of that!" and proceeded to show me my bum going flying in the air in slow motion, my head on the floor looking directly at a pair of shiny new westropp over-reach boots 3 inches from my eyes, and then me splat on the ground hanging on to Mr D! It was great!

SO I got back on, had a tantrum at the ditch but took a lead over it, carried on to some tyres which he refused because he'd got himself in a panic at being overtaken. But DID manage to do all the other fences first time and home in one piece!

I was soooo pleased.

Off back to the jump off in the sj had the fasted time beating the fastest by 4 seconds but sadly had one pole down and wasn't placed

But had a FAB day out in the best weather ever!
Here is a couple of pics half way through the day

Oh brilliant!! Haha, I'll be looking that up, I must have missed that as I had to go and jump judge the coffin briefly until someone else was found, damn, shame they found the other girl!! lol.

I have the most unflattering photo of Ernie at the barells but I must say he didn't stop once!

Aww they took away all the carrots on the barrel tops! No fair! :P

I meant to say in the first post that the moment i saw the overreach boots in front of my eyes I was 100% straight upside down looking at them! I'd have got a ten for style if I was in gymnastics!!
grin.gif

I'm looking forward to seeing them too!
