Can any one suggest the most appropriate xc course in essex for me to take my mare to as her first introduction to XC?
Hoping to find somewhere with a good variety of small jumps so as not to overface her (or get myself jumped off).

Stratford Hills is my closest but I thought that may be better suited to a more established combination?
How about Berwick farm?
Or Centre Oaks?

I have taken my mare out to a couple of jumpcross sessions which she seems to enjoy but she is still very spooky SJ and massively overjumps/ rushes so for the xc I really want a nice easy introduction to help build confidence.

Thanks

Downhouse just off the A130 near Chelmsford. A field of really small jumps, they're set around the edge of the field so you can canter round and pop them easily. Then you move to different areas where the jumps get bigger though none are over 2'6. There's a few steps down to running water, a bank to step up and jump off and a field of skinnies. £5 per hour hire per horse or £10 unlimited time.

Great thanks there is a clinic at Berwick in a couple of weeks.

Has anyone been to centre oaks xc? It would be good to know if that is also worth a try.

And down house must be quite close to me then and for £5 it's worth just popping there for a little play about once I've done a couple of xc schooling sessions elsewhere.
Do you have the number as I can't seem to find the details.

Is this the clinic on the 9th July with Zoe Duffy at Berwick? If you do go, I'll be astonished if you don't enjoy it and get a lot from it.

I didnt know about that one, the one i saw was at Berwick with Susanna Hurley on the 23rd.
I am at jumpcross on the 9th and there is a clinic at Centre Oaks on the 10th which I now hear is very good for starting out but its the Euro finals so finding it hard to convince my husband that two horses trips in one weekend is a good idea.
23rd is more convenient so if you think Berwick is suitable Ill probably just go with that one.
