Hi all,

I am fairly new to this forum, but have had my chestnut mare on loan for about 6 months now and we went for our first xc schooling session today.

She is 14 - done pony club/hunter trials before and hopefully is going to teach me to jump! Been having sj lessons, and have successfully taken her to unaffiliated sj and done some unaffiliated 'jumpcross' but this was our first time going proper xc.

Her owner told me she doesnt like 'ditches and water' and so I was pleasantly surpirised when she jumped the ditch the first time

(although she did duck out at the skinny house afterwards the first time - I was not being determined enough!)

She didnt want to go in the water though - but it didnt take very long for her to get through it (albeit by jumping it!)

My aim would be to do the BE training class at Pulborough at the end of October - all constructive criticism welcome

What a lovely horse and you ride her so well. I think she looks great, love her pawing at the water! She looked a lot more confident second time through, with a bit of time I am sure she will be fine.
