My 2-phase horse trial has been cancelled this weekend - boo! - but I now have a choice of three fun rides or 2 different XC schooling venues (one BE course, one course designed by Willis Bros)

Decide for me what to do, I can’t decide :D

Fun ride, they are not really my idea of fun but with J being a bit backward thinking xc it should help get his get up and go going, if there are jumps try and use them to give him some fun following another horse, I think you can almost do too much schooling and try too hard which can make some horses switch off a bit, at 70-80 there should be nothing that he hasn't seen/ cannot jump comfortably if he is thinking forward so that would be my priority before you go to the next event.

Oh good that was my thought too - ideally I would like to school at Ascott under Wychwood but I think the fun ride would be better for him!

Just had to add - woo hoo I’m going Eventing :) :) I’d thought I wouldn’t get my entry in for Broadway as payday isn’t until Friday but my lovely mum has lent me the entry fee - yay, BE80 here I come!!!

OMG I’d better start practising..... :o

:D :D exciting
Get the dressage and sj nailed and just try to get him thinking forward for the xc - he has bucket loads of jump in him so can easily jump all the 80 stuff from a walk if required anyway :D

His SJ is ok too as long as he is forward - I need to remember to stop him getting long and flat and tipping a pole!

Dressage....ummm.... well it’s all there and brilliant if I actually remember to ride! Maybe Valium is the answer for me :D

Pretty sure hip flasks in BE dressage are allowable attire....
