XC tuition in South Wales

Can anyone recommend a good XC instructor in South Wales area am in monmouthshire.
Am competing at PN at the moment and had a poor season last year due to horse virus which has lead to a bit of a lack of confidence on both parts virus is cleared up and back on top form and are both full of enthsiasm cant wait to get going again but could do with a confidence boost!

William Miflin is really good. Not quite in your neck of the woods but he will travel to hold a clinic.

Where is he based? i dont mind travelling as long as not hours! he does clinics at Hill Top I think.
I would really prefer a private lesson as lack of confidence does he teach privately?

Rosie Thomas is Based at Leominster and travels all over - Ive had sessions with her at Lincomb (Austin O Cons old place) Sapey,(my fav) and Hilltop (Ledbury)- she has and is a true revelation to the way I ride XC and has hugely boosted my conf and my horses too. Having ridden round Burghley twice clear XC and (hopeing) to get to Bad 08 she knows what she is on about.
Though nearer to you is Matt Ryan who I have only ever heard good things about - he seems good fun.

i reckon Matt Ryan would be a good bet, he's a really nice guy. Graham Law is in that area too, and very experienced.

I've heard mixed things about Matt Ryan, lots of people love him but then I know his ex head girl who really doesnt rate him at all.

It wouldn't stop me giving it a try though, especially as he's so close to you
William Miflin is very good also! And if you've got the time and transport get up to Northants and spend a couple of days with Nigel Taylor, he'll get your confidence sorted

Graham Law is at Cleobury Mortimer - Hillocks Farm with the Perrys. Shrops.Worcs boarders - I dont know if he is available for training and lessons though.

How much are people generally prepared to pay for an XC session ? - bearing in mind you usually have to pay £15, £20, sometimes £35 to hire the place for the time too.

I usually pay about £30 for a lesson so would expect to pay the same for a lesson XC and then for school hire. I dont think this is bad as it is usually that kind of price if you book a clininc XC and at least you get the full hour tailored to you. I have been on XC clinics whichi have found totally useless as have been tailored to the other people and i was grouped badly. also you can progress at your own rate in private lessons
