Hi,
I have a rather chunky 16.2 IDxCob type with legs like tree trunks. I am struggling to find boots suitable for xcountry to fit her. I've only just come back into riding after a 20 year break and things have changed a lot! In particular, whether it is a good idea to even use boots at all, due to over heating of legs. I currently have the Woof Wear Cob extra wide double locking brushing boots that fit her front and back (just). So...are these suitable for xcountry? Do I need boots at all? Can you suggest any other makes that may fit?
Thanks in advance, and here is a pic of me and Betty at our first show a couple of weeks ago :)

I have to make do with the Woofwears with my chunky cob - I simply cannot find any other boot that will fit his tree trunks which are wide but short. I personally would prefer some protection to non at all - even if they are just brushing boots. Fortunately his chunky legs seem to be pretty robust (touch wood!) and I don't think he's ever really needed them, but I feel better that they are there.

For XC he also wears overreach boots purchased from the big horse shop which had a stand at HOYS... they had them up to 4XL. Think they are online too.

Woof wear smart event boots are fab for chunky horses. I have a medium on my mare who is only 15.3 but got a lot of bone, I have a pair in large for sale if you're interested.

Could not find anything to fit our xc loving belgian draft, he is now getting made to measure ones by our saddler!
