Very long story. Told YO I wasn't prepared to pay 4k for her as I found out that her recnt health issues was due to bad hind leg confo. Basically, her hind legs aren't "square" therefore put pressure on her back, and coz she has a long back anyway, this automatically causes problems.
Farriers say with good foot shaping it should be fine in the long, but in the meantime, it would be a long and costly process.
Plus she also has white line disease, which isn't the end of the oworld, but will obviously slow the reshaping of the feet process down.
with me so far....
So I said this to YO, by text as she didn't answer her phone, and to this day I have not heard anything.
I didn't make an offer as I wanted to see what she would say or do first (which turns out to be nothing!)
Horlicks is still in the RS, and as yet, I haven't seen any ads for her, not even in the shop window at the RS. I can only assume that maybe she was hoping I would jump at the chance of owning her, and she would get a quick buck!
I would still love to buy her, and I know in time she would be a fit and healthy horse, but all at a cost to me, and I feel this should be considered when asking for £££.
If at the end of the day she does sell her to some one else, then good luck to Horlicks and her new mummy. There are always plenty of fish in the sea - I know, I've seen them!!
Glad to hear she hasn't ended up with someone else. It does sound like the YO was just trying to save herself some money by getting you to foot the bill for fixing Horlicks up.
I'm afraid I am no push over and know when I am being had!
If she lowered the priced based on the money it'll cost me to "fix" her then I may consider buying her, but until then, I will enjoy every ride I have on her, and ride her as if it were my last!!
