I'm looking for rubber XXL overreach boots for turnout - need to be easy to remove so prefer ones with fastenings (not just the standard full rubber bell boot type) but want something that will last... he currently has a pair of Shires XL and the velcro has torn off very quickly, despite me being careful with them (because a friend had the same type and found the same thing!). The XL were a little small so will get XXL this time.

Have seen a pair of Masta ones (similar to Shires with double velcro fastening) - are these durable?

Obviously cheap is nice, but at the same time would rather pay a little more for a pair that'll last rather than paying three times more in the long run replacing poor quality ones!

Thanks :)

ETA: Cuppatea if you read this, don't take offence - I'm saving his Hunters for special occasions, they're too nice for every day use :D

Try the eskadrons! A bit more pricey but well worth it! Have had constantly on a large irishdraft who wears bar shoes and they are brilliant-he has not got one off yet!!

Hello, I had the a similar problem. However, i found that sprenger full rubber overreach are FANTASTIC! They are super stretchy and even come off if they need to (saftey feature) i've had mine for years, on to my second pair now as one boot seemed to wonder off! Your local sprenger stockist can order them for you. Again highly recommended :)

i bought the Masta ones off Ebay and was seriously unimpressed. They are not XXL compared to other makes, maybe an XL but really just a large. Never got to find out if they're durable as they were inches too small (ok Big Pony's front feet are 8" across but we measured them against other 'normal' horses OR boots).

Woof Wear Kevlar ones. Tough, very strong velcro & don't rub. The biggest size is XL but don't let that put you off because they're the only XL I've ever found that fit my ID. The only downside is that they aren't cheap, but my ID wears his 24/7/365 & has yet to kill one & that's quite a recommendation.
