I am finally going to have to retire my Dubarry's, as they really aren't going to make it through another winter:rolleyes:.

So please could you recommend me some cheapy cheap yard boots.

I'm thinking a max of £80 and would prefer an all leather type one, bit like the Harry Hall Belem ones (waxy type) but without a rear zip.

Ryedale Malham boots, I had a pair years ago and I wore them to death for riding in, dog walking, horsey outings, mucking out....I lived in em!

Great value for money too, obviously won't be a patch on your dubes but for the price you've stated well worth it. :)

Thanks Kenzo, those look nice but I'm just concerned about the suede bits on them, as they are not as tough as leather bits. Although thinking about it my Durbarrys have given up in the sole area and the tops of the toes have cracked. The suede bit does clean up pretty easy.

Do you want something that looks Durbarry ish or just something practical?
I bought a pair of builders boots last year and can't praise them high enough- warm, comfy and the steal toe cap saved my toes slipping on ice many times over :o

Ummm, I'm not in anyway vain:o, but I'd like some a bit Dubarry looking, and they need to be long, as our clay soil can get pretty shin high in mud through winter. Plus I'd like to wear them to Bramham etc and look good!:D

My Dubarrys have given up too (after a good 5 years!).. I think I may get a pair of Ariat Windermere's next! (They are about £140)

Having tried all the rest Dubarries all the way you get what you pay for. How do steel toe caps prevent you slipping on ice? I thought that was down to the grip on the sole!

I was sure I had finished my sentence :o
I ment to say they saved my poor toes from being trodden on after slipping on ice- I normally find if I have managed to save myself from falling over a hoof is waiting to stomp down
