Following on from my foot getting stomped picking up the new boy I appear to have bought myself a horse who does not look where he is stepping - at least I hope he is not doing it on purpose. I think it would be wise to get some yard boots with a bit of foot protection while I can still count my toes.
Could I have some recommendations please?

Definitly not a horse to wear flip flops with(not that I ever would)!!

defo defo would recommend the Mountain Horse protective jodhpur boot. They are fantastic. Went to college and mucked out three horses a day in them five days a week and some weekends, rode in them occasionally and they lasted me into my second year. the best thing is they also keep your foot really warm in the winter, they're not thermal but all the support and protection makes them warm - think they're about £55ish (can't remember but they are fab).

I bought some "Work boots" from Derby market over a year ago now and still going strong. I wear them seven days a week, ride in them for six of those days, Daisy has tried to slice off my toes numerous times and they are still going strong. They were only £25 because they aren't marketed for riders, just nice, good quality boots. I'd shop around if I were you and go to a local builders merchants or trade market

Another vote for the Mountain Horse Protective. I'm on my third pair in 10 years. They literally get worn day in day out.

Highly recommended!
