i need some new yard boots after my naughty whippet ate my boots :mad:

i have short wide calves so really struggle to find ones to fit- ariats are a big no-no as far too long for me... was thinking about these toggi columbus boots- does anyone have any? they are shorter length so would be ok on me i think but wondered if they are comfy? can you ride in them?

I like them but dont know anything about them! I have to say I highly recommend mudruckers! there so damn comfy and your feet are kept toasty! I think If I loved them anymore I would marry them, I think they are quite generous (think thats how its spelt) in the calf area. But there too thick to ride in but I think you may struggle to find thick, hard wearing yard boots that you can ride in. I keep my riding boots at the yard and swap shoes before riding.
 
I love my Toggi Canyon boots (so much I have two pairs now), ride in them, muck out in them and they are still water tight and look smart 12 months later. They are really warm as they are fully suede lined, the only downside being that they took a bit to wear in as they have quite small ankles ime and aren't extremely generous on the calves either but they haven't sunk anywhere near as much as my Dublin River boots did. I would highly recommend the Toggi boots but try them on first as I went for a size up than normal :).

I have just bought these and the fit is shocking.....they are not long enough in the leg for me (i am only 5ft 7 so average height i am guessing?)so the last velcro bit at the top does up across the widest bit of my calf,which means it dosnt do up properly and make me look like i have inherited legs from a tele tubby :( I have also ridden in them aswell,and wouldnt recommend them to school in,cannot feel horses sides through them!HOWEVER....they are very light,like wearing slippers :) In all i wouldnt recommend them and much prefer the Muckboots from Muckboot Co.
 
I like themuckboots - the riding one. Great on the yard in winter (feet sweat as weather gets warmer..) and good for riding (although boots are big, so not great for small stirrups). A few people on here have said they've spit quickly, but am on my third winter with mine..

Mine did..however when i actually worked it out i had well and truly had my moneys worth,lol :D
Had them a yr,never had mine spit at me but they did split,lmao ;)...however they were worn 5 days a wk for 5 hrs a day and 2hrs sat and sun,plus when they had actually split the layers are fab,they still didnt leak water and were so warm,lol :D loved them and when i have worn these horrid woof things out i will be getting another pair of Muckboots :D
 
I have the columbus and love them!

Dont ride in them as way too chunky but fab for on the yard, I too have short 'full' (;)) calves and these boots leave me enough room to wear my Hunter Wellie socks inside too - Making them extra snug!!

Have found the grip to be great too - Yard is currently like an ice rink!!

oooh i might have to get them then (the columbus ones!) they are the only ones that i like the look of- the mark todd ones are very similar to the mountain horse ones which i hate! also don't like muckboots at all... guess i will just have to go to the effort of changing my boots before i ride and stop being so lazy!! :D
