What yard boots do people like? Not necessarily riding because I'm out of riding aside from that super occasional hack but need some comfortable ones that won't assault my heels after a few hours. Mine are hunter wellies but a bit bulky for myself personally 😂😂😂

Prefer long ones personally but will look others thank you 🙏

I only buy Mountain horse boots got about 4 pairs 1 pair of brown Aurora long riding boots absolutely love these.

Long back Venice riding boots really comfy were my show boots.

Short brown classic boots these are great for walking and just general stuff.

And I have a pair of the country boots so comfortable and look lovely.

Dubarrys if you can afford to have some for mucking out. They are fab. Admittedly I don't use them for that now but I did with my first pair. I have a pair of look a likes I got for £60 and they're fab. They beat the Dublin/Toggi look a likes in terms of durability and waterproofness too. I can't remember the make though!

I love my Ariat Tellurides but they are not that hard-wearing so I’d avoid if you’re on a budget and working on a yard all day. Mine only last about 8-9 months before they are not waterproof at all and pretty worn down.

Grasmeres are also comfortable and seem to last longer but they’re expensive and the leather will eventually rot. The laces can be a bit of a faff.

Welly type boots especially for winter like Aigle Parcours or Le Chameaus are very comfortable but again expensive. I have learnt that separate insoles are often the way to go for making a cheaper boot more comfortable.

after years of cheap boots that did the job, i treated myself to some ariat coniston pro’s and they are hands down the the comfiest shoes i’ve ever worn! i hunted around for a decent sale price, but now i’ve got them i’d honestly pay the full price!

Forget about all the pricy yard boots, as soon as something is sold as Equine wear they have a premium price. I went to a builders merchant's and bought a pair of 'rigger boots'. They have fleece inside them & they are waterproof & comfortable and a fraction of the cost for an 'equine brand'. They cost between £20-£25 and they last forever. Far more resilient than the over expensive equine trugs. I also buy the plastic trugs from builders merchants or supermarkets because they are stronger & last longer and are cheaper than those from Equine shops. I can understand wearing equestrian clothes if you are going to ride but for mucking out, poo picking & doing jobs around the yard I wear jeans, rigger boots and a waterproof jacket.

I've got a pair of barebacks boots as well but can't remember which ones. I have used them a lot over the last 12 months and find them to be very comfortable.

I used to have a pair but they were SO heavy to walk in, I abandoned them eventually.

Goretex walking boots. I have Asolo ones, because I love the Vibram sole and my last pair lasted for 20 years! Yes, 20 years! Firstly as a walking boot, then for the last four years as daily yard and hacking boots (with fabric half chaps). Fantastic cost per wear 🤣

And I do not look after my shoes!

Mountain Warehouse have loads of choice though for cheaper, which are probably just as good, it's just I'm trying to get to 20 years again :p
