So, this is probably (definitely) not the most exciting of toptics for a Sunday evening but I desperately need a new broom.

It doesn't need to be mega-industrial as I'm a one horse owner but it does need to be fairly substantial & well, actually sweep which is more than my current broom does :D

Any recommendations?

good old fashioned corn brooms. I have sweeping OCD, part of a trial to be a staff member is to prove they can sweep!! Corn brooms get into all the edges. You need to get one with long stiff bristles and they need to be light and fairly thick. Think the ones we use are called future brooms. For the yard itself, get a leaf blower!!

Another Gorilla brooms fan and brushing fanatic. People think I'm weird because I use a dustpan and brush to get into the corners of my stable however I've notice a few other people getting themselves dust pans and brushes on the quiet after they've seen me use mine.

Corn brooms are good but sometimes ewhen sweeping a large are of yard you need a wide broom. Literally an hour ago & bought a 'Bulldozer Broom', it's 18" wide, seems very strong & hopefully it will do the job. It takes an eternity to broom ther yard with a normal sized one. :)

I bought one of ebay for £12 quid and was a load of rubbish, broke within 30 seconds of using of course seller will not reply now to my messages and ebay makes it so difficult to open a dispute I've said bye bye to that

I bought a gorilla one instead which I have used before but because it was kept outside rusted where the handle joins the brush head, so this time I'm hoping it lasts longer as tools are now kept inside. it is a lovely brush and I use the leveller thing for my wood pellet bed makes it lovely and flat

Well, it looks like a Gorilla broom is the way to go :D I guess the big question is what to call him or her on arrival ...?!

I already have a dustpan & brush which is great for in the stable, I completely agree with you pansymouse :)

As the self-appointed official HHO Gorilla Broom namer, I'll offer my services when he/she arrives. I can't name hypothetical brooms, I need to feel the connection with the real thing. A photo will suffice (well it's good enough for animal communicators :D)

Really? We've got a gorrilla broom and it's awful... everything sticks to it!! You can't brush hair or anything wet... awful.

I picked up a normal wide wooden one for a tenner at local builders merchants and apart from tightening the screws once in a while, it's still going after 5 years.
