I am right there with you.
I had my last pony stabled at my friends yard and we were so happy. Nice small personal yard, all was amazing. I had 2 years out of horses when she went to her new home (unforeseen reasons) . Since then i have acquired my very first mare back in Aug this year and i put her on a lovely yard just a 6 min drive from home but...neither of us are really settled.
Too busy. Not really getting the fitting in vibe. I swiftly sort my pony and go...no one is nasty or horrid i just cant connect for some weird reason. Pony is also stressing there when out, wants to be in 24/7 so looks like we will be heading to my friends. Its a 20 min drive as opposed to 6 and the hacking is non existent unless you want to be killed on the road. But there is an indoor school and fields to ride in, were both knocking on so itll suit us fine at least i know there i will be content which hopefully will rub off onto the pony.
OP would it be worthwhile contacting your local PC and riding club to see if anyone knows of anywhere?
Have you got ads on all local feed store and tack shop noticeboards? Try your local Gumtree? Ad in local paper classified pages? Your local Facebook horsey pages? Regional board on this forum? (Sorry if you've tried all these already)
Could you section off part of a field for your boy so he could have individual turnout for now?
Could you move to the other yard and not ride for a while, just to get out of current situation?
Know what you mean regarding lack of places to go. Some areas there just ISN'T a choice and you can end up unwittingly trapped when circumstances change. Very stressful. Hope something will turn up for you soon. Keep looking!
Is Edburton too far? At one end of our farm we have smaller fields, herds of 4/5 and pairs turnout. At the other end we have a bit 33 acre field with about 11 horses in. Most in the big field are grass liveries but there are some stables.
I have 2 up the end with the smaller fields and 1, my project horse, in the big field.
