Yard clothing and footwear

God these days I just wear anything! Luckily my yard is just a few minutes walk away so have gone in pyjamas when hungover early in the morning, a nice dress and heels to check on water in the field in summer before a night out, work clothes, clothes I’ve just been shopping in....so many of my clothes I’ve bought for casual wear have become yard clothes because I’m too lazy/don’t have time to get changed haha. I do have loads of hoodies and coats in winter though that I will buy from places like
Primark, I especially use these as spares if my favourite yard coat gets completely soaked. As for footwear I live in hunter wellies most of the time, I try to use my riding boots only for riding. My poor car is the storage for these wellies so as you can imagine it’s not exactly pristine lol!

Thank you everyone for the top tips and recommendations - I know it's only a share for a few days a week but I think it will be good to have a few key things to make life easier and more comfortable.

By way of an update, I am really very enjoying my evening shopping around on the Regatta website - found some candidate wellies and raincoats with hood that can be properly tucked away (one in a neon yellow which would also tick the high vis off the list!)

There's a Decathlon not far from me so will head there - I like the look of the kipwarms and may grab another pair or two of cheap jods/leggings. I want to go to a couple of the local charity shops which I know normally have quite well stocked sports sections to see what I can find there too.

I'll try to get along to a tack shop too and see what else I can find (slightly worried I'll come out with all sorts I don't really need). Share horse is highly unlikely to actually need anything but I can feel the temptation to buy 'bits' for him because I've gone and got all excited!

I've never have yard clothes as such - yard wear is just the last stop before the rag bag for jeans, joggers, t-shirts and fleeces that are not fit to be seen in anywhere else. Yard foot wear lives at the yard and never leaves - no mud in my car or house :) In the winter I have a yard coat which lives in my boot and is never allowed inside the car (I do drive a decent car and want it to stay that way).

Personally I'd get some safety boots/trainers for yard work, with steel midsole too if you are doing anything in the fields. I've had blackthorn go through the soles of wellies into my foot.

My horse trod on my foot today while he had physio. I was wearing joddie boots - not his full weight thankfully, but a great reminder to keep the steel toecaps on.
