I decided to organise a comp at our yard, (big yard) Did'nt get as many entries as I would have liked, but even though it rained ALL day everyone seemed to really enjoy it, even the yard owner came over to watch!

Had a lead rein/walk and trot class for the kids that did'nt canter, then Jnr and Snr Prelim 7 and Novice 21. One of the dads took piccies, one of the mums was the steward, my friend was the dressage writer, and I did the bacon butties/brews and called tests! Managed to fit my tests in the middle - Madam May has 1 week to improve her behaviour or she is going on horsemart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She warmed up beautifully, looked lovely, as soon as we went out to do the test she was awful! Really stroppy, would'nt listen, tanking off! We are indoor dressage next week, so she better book up her ideas, or else!

But the comp was a success, think I made more on the bacon butties than entry fees, had completely sold out of bacon, sausage and coffee cups by the time we finished!

Am really glad it went well! Shame about the rain.

You must be exhausted after all that work.

Large glass of wine is in order me thinks

Large glass of wine sounds a great idea! went to Robinsons after the show (mum wanted to buy my xmas pressies), left the house at 8am, got home at 7pm tonight! My feet and legs are still throbbing, all the running around - oh, and 6hrs behind the bar last night suppose did'nt help either!

By any chance did you have a break between the warm up and the test - even just a few minutes? By lad is exactly the same and my instructor told me not to have a break. It can be difficult but go straight from warm up to ring without a stop - you'll probably need a helper or two to tell you when it's your turn. BUT it works a treat. The first time I did (with a much longer warm up than normal too) I came first with a score of 71%! The highest I'd ever managed before that was about 62%!!! The idea of not stopping is that they don't have time to switch off and think b*gger that!

Well done on organising a yard 'do' though , must have been fun for everyone.

Hmmm, will try that on Sunday, but I did my P7, stayed in the outdoor, kept working her, then went straight into my N21 and she was still a witch! Will really concentrate on keeping calm and relaxed next week too - if that does'nt work, then horsemart it is!

I'll PM you the full instructions I got my instructor (they are long!) - I gave them to Icestationzebra and she had good results with this method too. Good luck and let us all know how you get on.

Everyone loved it, and want me to do another in January! It was a lot of hard work to organise though.

For xmas Mum bought me a new Joules top, pair of johds and I would have like some new Mountain Horse High Riders, but did'nt dare ask at £140 a pair!, so got some of the Requisite ones!
