Does anyone have for winter yard hands? Mine are so dry and hard from the cold and bedding. Is there any really good creams worth trying because all of mine don't seem to work and it feels horrible.
 
I have a pair of Sealskins for riding and a pair of waterproof skiing gloves with grippy bits for yard work. Because of the grippy bits I can also tack up wearing them and then swap to the riding gloves at the last minute. I have to wear gloves otherwise my hands turn into chapped bleeding messes.
 
At home I wash my hands by smothering in emulsifying ointment (about £4 for a huge tub from chemist)) massaging in for about 30 seconds then rinsing away in v warm water.
Before bed I slather my hands in body shop hemp hand cream then wear white cotton gloves (I look like a bizarre mime artist ;))
On the yard I wear these for everything http://www.toolsdiy.co.uk/shop/view/garden/winter-warm-work-gloves/ so warm & no need to take off for anything (other than riding obvs)

Ignoring all the other stuff on here....where did you get your sealskin gloves from? Is there a particular brand that's good? Cheers! :D
 
Exfoliation every couple of days followed by lots of hand cream is good

And always apply hand cream before your hands get dry
 
I just use those thin gardening-type gloves that are on sale all over the saddlers now and live in them at the yard now! I use them pretty much all year round as I can do everything in them (even fiddly rug-mending!). They are semi-waterproof (i.e. only the fronts) and keep my nails clean which saves digging them out. I really like the extra grip and protection they give me for general farm jobs. I suffer with cold hands but amazingly not when I'm in these thin-ish gloves. Can I say they are the Atlas ones to clarify (don't work for them!).
