I'm lucky enough to have the horses at home with land, school and (dilapidated) stables. I'm struggling with maintenance - so much to do, I just can't keep up and do my job and keep the horses going. Does anyone employ someone to help with this kind of thing in the same way as people have cleaners i.e. just a few hours a week? If so is there a name for that kind of job and what would the going rate be? Thanks!

Well my local handyman (that’s the name although maybe maintenance man, yard person?) anyway. He comes when I call. Turns himself to most things. £25 ph though. You might get someone who wants a few part time hours but if you employ someone then you have responsibilities. https://www.gov.uk/employ-someone

Better to get in someone when needed on a self employed basis as I do.
