Yard meeting - useful or recipe for inevitable melt down?

I always speak to my yard manager if I have any issues she jokes that if I am happy everyone else will be and calls me her most high maintenance livery but she always knows where she stands and issues never become a big deal because we talk about them. If we were to have a yard meeting it would be useless but mainly because we are like one big family and we would all get drunk and talk rubbish and nothing about the yard would be discussed! I think though if the YM called a meeting and I thought she was likely to get a pasting from other liveries I would go to support the YM and give some examples of things she has sorted for me because I actually talk to her and don't dwell on problems!

Yard meetings can be a positive thing if held by YO or YM in an attempt to advise liveries of new things that are happening or anything that is bothering them. It also gives the liveries an opportuninty to voice thier concerns and maybe come up with suggestions that will improve the yard for owners and liveries. Providing everything is done in a constructive manner and no one gets personal I think it could be good. :)

If it's billed as a "don't hold back" meeting, it's going to be a disaster.

In the circumstances I probably wouldn't go, and to be honest it doesn't sound like a great yard to be on. Rude and aggressive liveries? Ineffectual, stressed YM? YO at arms length? Oof.

If there needs to be a meeting, it needs to be promoted in non-inflammatory language (let's all have a get-together and discuss how we can make the yard better) rather than inflammatory (things are terrible, come along and let rip). Everyone needs to know in advance what is going to be discussed, and someone needs to be able to keep it under control. If the problems that are going to come up cannot be solved directly or indirectly by anyone at the meeting, it is not worth having - it will only make things worse.
