loaner not paid grass livery bill for 2 weeks and horse moving to another loaner arrive at yard 1pm, 1st loaner not there other loaner arriving at 2pm y/o says cant let horse go or I need to leave equipment to value of bill owing..I said no way they can stop me from taking my horse or my equipment as their contract is with 1st loaner not me and to get hold of loaner for payment..anyway phone calls to loaner went unanswered..after about 30 mins loaner called no pennies till next day I told loaner y/o owner wants something to hold to cover costs..nothing loaner would do..yes I know I could of called police as my horse my property and y/o had no written contract with loaner its nothing to do with me or mine..I wanted it settled as I liked y/o and staff and I could see their point of view if the horse belonged to the loaner but shes mine..and new loaner was turning up any time did not want them to walk into the middle of a battlefield and bill only £36 so sensible head on and paid with the promise from y/o when livery pays up tomorrow they will refund pennies into my account.

I think that is actually fair on all parties and you did the honourable thing. I know you didn;t have to but yard owners really do have a tough time fiancially and get screwed by bad liveries and can do nothing about it short of legal action and in the meantime they still have costs. Hopefully the 1st loaner will be shamed into paying and you will get your money back. was there a reason you have stopped the first loan?

went to visit a fortnight into loan and horse weight down put it down to moving and in field 24/7 with new horses and getting lots more exercise told livery I wanted weight back up and to keep in touch three weeks later loaner says moving house same area however cant buy horse willing to hold on to her for rest of contract 3 weeks and other viewers can see her there, 2nd loaner went down and said very interested and would like to take her on with view to buy as advertised so to and fro sunday was pick up and when we turned up my horse has lost even more weight first loaner not there and girls at yard said she has only ridden horse about 5 times and not been up everyday like she has been saying to us they felt sorry for my horse and even brought her in for hay a couple of times as they knew I told loaner to keep giving small feeds as grass was still rubbish, when I seen my horse though not skin and bone a few more weeks she could of been. when new loaner turned up I said to them I would not mind if they wanted to change there minds and explained not ridden as often and her condition they did say they were surprises as she was a lot slimmer compared to her pictures and still willing to take her so off we all went to new home small holding and only 30 mins drive from house so can visit more ,looked at her other animals plus donkey and pony all well kept..grass in good condition and no mud, yep no mud.brill.

Cindydog, I'm having real problems trying to read your posts because of the almost total lack of punctuation. Would you mind throwing in a full stop from time to time when you breathe? I think you did the right thing, as it wasn't a lot of money and avioded hassle. However the YO's contract was with the loaner, so you were entitled to take your horse and belongings and there wasn't a lot they could do about it, short of getting physical.

And breath, phew, needed that big time, have been typing faster as found when I press the submit my post disappears and I end up having to type post out again...
