I have a Peter Storm jacket from one of the outdoor shops that’s on its third winter now, still waterproof and doing its thing.

Has the quality of new Musto improved from 2 or 3 years ago? I've not bought one since two started leaking after a couple of months. I know I ride a lot in bad weather but I did expect more than that!

I now buy outdoor brands mainly (I did a 3 and a half hour hack in heavy rain and no leaks in a non-horsey branded coat on it's second Autumn) but have just bought a new Harry Hall coat because of another thread on this forum ?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I bought a new with tags Musto Canter jacket in my size on eBay for half the cost what it would have been new in store. It's grand in every respect except that presumably being one of the last ones made, it's let down by a cr@p flimsy plastic zip. I'm going to get the zip replaced. Did the older Canter jackets have proper sturdy metal zips?

I had the long-canter now about 4 yrs old and it had a crap zip which lasted about a year if that.I had a new chunky zip put in but the stitching went on that too and I haven’t had it repaired again.

I want to replace my now very old Puffa stock coat, which has no lining. I hate zips, too fiddly for me, and I get hot quickly, so unless its a two fleece day I often wear just this. I have other coats but rarely wear them. So if anyone has seen a 3/4 length stock coat, no zip, and no lining in their browsing, could I have a link.

I’m looking for a 3/4 coat with poppers but without exception they all have zips too.
you might have to settle for a coat with both and just use the poppers.

Ah, I remember someone having problems with the zip on their Musto Canter jacket.

Mine is a great looking jacket which let down by a nasty zip which is a devil to do up, and goes wonky and sticks when you undo it. It's a new jacket still with tags, albeit they've been discontinued for a while. Remembering your remarks, I'd factored getting a new heavy duty zip put in into my finances when buying it at half the full new price, but had hoped that it wouldn't be necessary.
