its nearing that time of year again and time to start up the livery services,

does anyone run there own services for yard people and wht would you call reasonable rates?????
not wanting to scam owners in the credit crunch any ideas of general charges. have basic cost list but unsure to increase or keep same n just do large wrk load for low costs?

hi,
i was actually looking at my price list this afternoon to refresh my mind what i charge. I put my prices up last winter which is the 1st time in 8 years, mainly though due to the fact i dont have to do it for the £ and TBH, now i have twins, its not so easy to do extra horses at such short notice so its put people off abusing me so to speak (you know the call you gat at 6pm saying they cant do their horse that day etc!)
I've also sorted out an additional charge for catching, i 'think' its £2 for the 1st 45minutes, then 50p per 10 minutes as i was sick of spending hours running around 20 acres trying to catch ponies for hours for £1.50!
 
Turnout/Bring in - £1.50
Feed - £1
Hay - £1
Skip out - £3
Full muck out (bed left up) - £4
Full muck out (bed re-done) - £5
Full day (inc basic groom) - £10
Lunging - £10 per half hour
Clipping - Dependent on clip £10-£25
Mane/Tail pull - £10 each or both for £15

Urmmm I can't think of anything else

hi thee thanx for the message know what you mean with the late calls etc.i find i carn't say no even though im normally cold n tired and ike you its not a money maker as enjoy helping for a small reward lol.
i think your right to charge for the field catching especiallyif problem horse, i currently charge 5 pound for the whole am,feed,rug,muckout or 10 quid for the whole day all jobs.my friend who runs her services as full time money business thinks im crazy for low costs and thinks im making it easier for people to take advantge, im just to soft could never make money if did i properly lol
