sort of carrying on from the question yesterday... how much would you think is a reasonable price to pay to share a private yard (so no livery at all) where yard owner lives on-site, has 10 horses of own there, facilities inc indoor & outdoor arena, lunge pen, walker, solarium, wash box, small xc course, jumps, bedding/hay available on-site... Where the share would be that you got five 14x14 stables, a tack room, space in feed room, just over 5 acre paddock, use of facilities, (not inc bedding/hay).

obviously do expect it to vary given location but just after average would think is reasonable.

Judging by prices in Cornwall... About £125 -£150 a week... Pretty much the equivalent of DIY cost per stable. £25 is an average cost per stable here, but then there are some excellent facilities where you are considering.

Would you have to pay for utilities (water and electricity?)
would you have to pay for maintaining the yard/ fencing/ stables/ land (harrowing, rolling, fertiliser etc.)?
will you pay for muck heap removal?

If you're paying extra for the above then a very basic £25 a week sounds about right for East Midlands, if the above is included I'd expect to pay more - even the electric for solarium/walker/ floodlights could seriously add up, and having just written a cheque for £500 for fertiliser and weedkiller I know land maintenance is pricey!

the solarium/walker/lighting/hot water for wash box is all on a £1 per 15 to 60 mins depending which of those its on. no extra for general maintenance, have to by in own bedding/hay... plus the obvious if you or your horse breaks something you pay for it to be fixed (but found that a pretty standard thing on every yard ever been to)

I'd say £150 a week + if the grazing is good ( 5 acres isn't a lot for 5 big horses) and the woman you're sharing with is nice/ someone you can get on with I might pay quite a lot for this kind of arrangement, even up to £200+ a week.
