Here's some pics from our livery yard's fun show a few weeks ago.
Headed to warm up for the Ridden Pony class: it's dreadfully wet, but the pony is attentive...for the moment! I'm wearing the black jodhs because they're waterproof.
Trotting around in Ridden Pony: the horses in the next field are far more interesting than my aids are! Nevertheless, we managed to win!
A tender moment, waiting to trot up in Pony In-Hand:
Here we come! (We didn't place
)
Best Mane and Tail: to our left is the Friesian filly that beat the Spooky Pony into second place
.
The owner of the lovely grey Arab in the middle was kind enough to let my non-horsey sister (at the beginning of the week, she was nervous about feeding the pony a carrot) take her horse around the Mane and Tail class.
Look, they've made friends!
In the parking lot, on the way to Fancy Dress. I'm a horse fly! If you look closely, you can see the fake blood on the pony's shoulder.
From behind. The exoskeleton is made from my body protector, with strips of fake fur tacked on. I love his tail!
Up close and personal. The spooky pony is completely unfazed by the giant horsefly with flapping plastic foil wings on his back. Strange pony!
Going around the ring again.
My favourite of the other costumes: the sign says, "Veteran Horse---Please Give Generously" (he is over 18).
Pulled in 3rd, behind the "clothes horse".
