Yard Surface

Has anyone got any bright/innovative ideas for surfacing a yard as an alternative to concrete?

Looking for cheap ideas that look good

We have stamped concrete in a greeny colour. Looks really good and not too expensive from what I can remember. Initially it was very slippy though so something to bear in mind when discussing it with the people who do it for you.

Sorry to show ignorance but what is "stamped" concrete?

You can just about see it in this photo. It is bog standard concrete with a colour of your choice in it and stamped to look like paving or cobbles or whatever you want.
