Hi everyone,
I've been keeping my horse in Middlesex for the past couple of years and have recently moved house across town to East London. My commute to get to the yard has become a bit crazy and I'm looking for a new yard closer to home!
I'm based in Forest Gate in East London and don't want to travel more than 30 minutes MAX to get to the yard. That means that I've been looking in Epping, Waltham Abbey and Loughton but am open to suggestions!
Ideally the yard would offer part/full livery but a DIY yard with someone on the yard that I could pay to regularly muck out, feed etc when I can't get up there would work. I'd like there to be as much grazing as possible and wouldn't consider a yard that doesn't offer turnout in winter or just a few hours a day.
The yard needs to have at least a 20 x 40 menage with floodlights and ideally a bit bigger + show jumps and decent hacking. It also needs to allow external instructors to teach as I want to keep riding with my current trainer.
I'd also really appreciate a yard with some knowledgeable people willing to lend a hand to a relative novice as this will be my first foray out into the wild without the on-hand help of my trainer and the amazing girl who's been doing livery for me and I'm not super experienced when it comes to horse care so a bit nervous! (Basically, I wouldn't be leaving my current yard if it wasn't for the insane commute).
I hope I'm not looking for a unicorn
and would really appreciate any help or suggestions that anyone on the forum can offer.
Thanks
