I’m considering moving to the south Rugby area and wanted to know what it’s like for owning & riding horses there. I am a happy hacker who likes doing some clinics. Don’t know the area at all. 20 mins from Dunchurch ideally.

I cant help you. But we visited Rugby in 2004 and we stayed in Dunchurch. I was born in Rugby. My grandfather moved to Rugby and bought a house there near Bilton with a farm and stables intending to breed horses and to play polo at the nearby renowned Rugby Polo cub. In winter he hunted. Husband I went on a research trip to Rugby Local History Library and I had hoped to hack while there to see a bit of the country side. We had a great afternoon at the current small polo club. But the previously rural area is much built up and I didnt find an RS offering hacks. We saw a group of kids riding on the road, presumably taking RS ponies to turn out, but without saddles which is not strictly legal. And because I had only been riding for 2 years at that time, and due to my age, I hesitated before riding at a school where they might be relaxed about safety. It may well be different now.
I hope you will report back. My only contact with Dunchurch has related to excellent local historians there researching men from Dunchurch who were killed in WW1. Some were in the Royal Artillery brigade run by my grandfather.

I am in Southam/Napton there are quite a few barns in the Rugby area. The hacking where I am seems quite nice as well. When livery hunting I find more locations in Rugby easily found online than the warwick areas. I imagine a trip to tower farms in Rugby you'll find plenty of places to view from their board.
