I'm just considering my options at the moment, as the boy is being a thug at the moment and not getting on with the horses he has to share a field with, plus him being irritating for YO to handle - things like chasing other horses from the gate when she is changing rugs, trying to steal everyone else's feed, ripping rugs and now getting into some proper stallion fights with the YO's horse... unfortunately with 5 horses total, three big horses and two lami-prone ponies, we don't have a lot of options... have tried individual turnout but the way the fields are he cant see the others so fence walks and comes galloping over to me whenever he sees me... Plus whilst it's lovely having the school to myself, it isn't helping his anxiety when we go out that we never ride with other horses at home!

So I'm looking at livery yards. Unfortunately our needs are pretty specific, I understand I will have to compromise but would like to know what us out there.

My boy has EPSM, and has so far been living out 24/7/364, which does make life easier in terms of the shivers, and whilst I could compromise on stabling it would have to have year round turnout.

Ideally some hacking, the boy is good in traffic so don't mind if it's all off-road but we are trying to get eventing so for fitness we could do with some accessable off-road hacking.

Am not interested in full livery as I like to manage my own horse, but due to irregular work hours and travelling I would appreciate assisted DIY/part livery.

Needs a floodlit school, not worried about an indoor but will need lights as I work full time. Ideally either runs some competitions/training etc of its own or is nearby somewhere that does, as I don;t have transport and will be giving up my lift if I move! Need to be able to bring in outside instructors.

And like I said the horse is a thug so ideally small group turnout. Also would prefer somewhere at least busy-ish - last yard had thirty horses and I miss always having someone to natter to!

I am in Banchory, so the nearer the better! And Raemoir is a no, unfortunately.

Suggestions would be appreciated, and I will do some research before I decide whether or not moving is worth it for both of us...

Ooh, that looks like a possibility for sure. I know it's a long list of requirements, am willing to compromise on most things, but year-round turnout at least and somewhere lit to ride in the evenings is minimum. Everything else is ideals really! Thanks v much lachlanandmarcus :)
