Anyone know of any decent DIY/Part livery yards near MKEC? I am going to visit MKEC but wondered if there are any other yards in the area?...ideally within hacking distance of the eventing centre!
Im sure there are lots very close to MKEC,however i have friends at MKEC and know people who have based there throught the eventing season and have loved every minute.some will say the indoor stables are quite dark, but the horses are always very happy, fit and healthy.as for yards close id ring the local tack shop.hope this helps.im on my own yard quest at the moment.what a nightmare!
I also have a friend at MKEC, and she loves it! She moved there around 2 months ago and has enjoyed every minute so far! I don't know the area very well but i'm sure there are loads of smaller yards locally. Good luck with your search x
Theres Salcey lawn which has excellent turnout but not entirly sure about other facilities. Think Manor(?) Farm in Stoke Goldington - good outdoor arena and walker and turnout. Also another showjumper starting liveries over ther with good facilities. Home Farm in Castlethorpe has some liveries but Ive no idea what the faciliies are like/if there are any.

How does she find the turnout - is it v restricted...is it expensive - i know its 45 diy but the horses have to be in at 4 in winter and 5 in summer - so no overnight turnout in summer? Do you know if she finds the facilities ok - as in not too many people using them/too many comps on so you never get to use them! lol.
Can I ask what sort of facilities you need as a minimum. I know there is a yard at Long St in Hanslope but dont know what they offer or if there are any vacancies, also I think there may be some in Ashton/Roade although thats not really hacking distance of MKEC.
Aside from a decent stable and turn out all day, a decent ish school and good hacking nearby is all really! I would like the option of assisted livery where possible (ie feed , t.o for me in the morning).
Yeah definitelt one on Long St but I cant remember what its like. Home Farm is on he Hanslope Road if memory serves me correctly (but i might b Haversham road). As I said Im not sure how many liveries she takes on as most of those Ive seen are ponies and not sure about facilities..
Also one at Grafton Regis though havent seen an arena there if there is one and one at Yardley Gobion on th A508 backing onto canal. Reasonable facilities and turnout.
A few round Stoke Goldington. Park Farm at Little Linford though I think they mynot have a school - but have turnout and v good hacking.
Oh and one on Hartwell Rd out f Hanslope - think its sign posted Elms Farm but actually Orchard Farm. And one on Forest Rd - Forest Heights Farm I think.
New Woad farm at Lathebury, Newton Pagnell isnt far away really and seems nice enough.
