Hi everyone

Hubby and I are considering a move towards London a bit from where we currently are and the Romford area is quite central to both our jobs. Can anyone recommend me any yards in that area (I have searched old threads but all are at least 6 months old), I need at least an outdoor school, but an indoor would be fab, good hacking, limited turnout not too much of an issue as I struggle with my girls weight at times, but would prefer group turnout to individual, services available and lorry parking. Only other consideration is that my lorry is not LEZ compliant so would have to be outside that.

Thanks for any help anyone can give, hubs becoming irritated that I am more worried about where the horse lives than where we live lol

Water tower, bower farm, forest farm in collier row, lambourne park farm, brook farm, I dont have any contact numbers but you might find them on line. There is one in noak hill think its called noak hill equestrian.

Budges in Harold Wood is fab although I don't think they offer lorry parking.

It depends just how 'unbothered' you are by turnout. Limited turnout round here is a lot more 'limited' than limited turnout in other areas! A lot of yards in the area shut the fields for months at a time in the winter. Others give one or two hours once or twice a week. Would that be enough for you?

Ghostie - I will try and find out more about Budges, thank you. Re turnout the fields are shut at my current yard, have been for 2 weeks and farmer is currently predicting April for them to re-open, so while its not ideal it is something she is used to and provided she is worked twice a day she doesn't seem to mind too much. It's pretty much either no turnout and some facilities or turnout (on a sea of mud as its all clay) and no facilities around here!

Pinkyboots - thank you, isn't Collier Row inside the low emission zone though? I don't really know the area at all so am working from maps ATM. Will get googling for some numbers.

Home farm in stapleford abbots, roses (havering park riding school I think is the official name) Noak hill is nice but turn out is very limited as is hacking. There are LOADS of yards around, lilleputts (i think is the name??) in upminster, Eastminster is prob the best facilities wise (massive outdoor, loads of jumps etc, small indoor, loads of turnout) but I think is inside the zone...x

No help to you OP, but I learnt to ride at Lilliputs getting on for 45 years ago. ChiffChaffs post Just took me right back!

I will PM you the number for Budges tonight (won't work on phone). They have big outdoor school with excellent hacking and fab turnout (normally get ast least six hours a day even in the worst of weather.

Misshog2000 I am not sure about collier row maybe some of it is, this yard is almost in romford so might be ok, i may be able to get you water tower number if your interested.
