yards/stables/fields near Newport/Pontypool/Usk

Hi there,

I am more of a lurker than a poster, but thought some of you may be able to give me some advice/contacts...

I am moving jobs/house very soon, and am faced with the difficult task of moving my horse to an area I don't know at all!

If anyone knows of any nice yards in the Newport, Pontypool, Usk, Raglan area please could you PM me or post on here. It doesn't have to be fancy, I just need a stable and turnout, or even grass livery with good shelter or a field to rent i can put a shelter up in... I have not come across ANYTHING in my searches so far!
 
Thank you for this, unfortunately it is far too far away as although the description says Gwent, the directions in the ad are just off M50 in Glos!!

I sometimes work in Usk but can't profess to know the area really, well, not from a horsey point of view. There's a fab agri college just outside Usk - could rock up there and ask. http://www.coleggwent.ac.uk/index.php?Pid=2292&Mid=16

Am very envious too. It's the most beautiful place round there and would love to live there.
 
There are a few yards round ponthir the main two are isca livery and brook farm, there are quite a few in bassaleg not sure if that's to far for you.
 
Try Juliette Evans on 07776293070. She has a lovely small (8 box) yard about 6 miles from Usk towards Chepstow. Hacking out is fantastic, quiet roads and easy access to Wentwood and Chepstow Park. If that is too far the look at Isca Livery which is between Cwmbran and Usk or Cwm Headd which is at Basseleg.
 
I keep mine in Coed Y Paen near Llangibby but its not open properly yet. Fantastic place & hacking. Will be offering grass livery once everythings approved. Also kept mine in Ponthir for 7yrs until I moved.
 
Sorry that one on preloved is my yard, my mum posted the ad and she lives in Cwmbran which is why it came up as that!! Have you found a yard yet? If not I can put you in touch with a few.

I've heard there's a new yard in Coed y Paen, anyone know which one it is? Is it the one just off Treherbert Road with the indoor stables and small woodchip school or is there another?
