For those interested in the above bloodlines here is a lovely photo of a Selle Francais I'm riding at the moment, by Yarlands Summer Song, out of a mare by Valespoir Malabry. On the dam's side he carries both Double Espoir and Nankin, two stallions in the pedigree of my good junior horse, but as sires of dams rather than in their usual incarnations in french pedigrees.

I did a search on YSS on here when he came to my attention and it was pointed out that him and FO tend to throw them pidgeon toed, which this one is. He has a very sweet temperament, he is on the large side though, probably about 17hh. He's 7.

Out of interest does anyone know who bred YSS, I see he has Welton representatives on his damside?

ysa was bred by d.i. johnston in great britain, born in 1986, half trak by muschamp danube, with an icc of 186 in eventing mainly in france, i think, his mother's sire was welton gameful, a tb

double espoir is in flipper d'elle, twice, my favourite show jumping stallion

Kai Ruder's stallion Leprince des Bois is by YSS commentator's comment from Bad this year is that Kai was seen hacking out on Leprince des Bois with his toddler up front.. speaks volumns for temperament .. but he always looks very strong X C.. think he did superb dressage at Bad 2010.. just had the unfortunate mis-hap at the bank XC

You might find a pic of YSS if you search this forum. I asked about him when I saw him described as a Foreign saddle horse on the Lion D'Angers programme 2006???

I am sure some posted a photo of him.

I have two youngsters by Yarland, they are amazing even if I do say so myself!

During the summer season he is kept 15 minutes up the road from my parents at Pompadour stud, the rest of the time he goes back home to Marie-christine at Chateau de Russas.

When I was choosing a stallion for my mare (also an eventer) I went to see quite a few at Pompadour...YSS blew them all out of the water. He is still just as stunning at the ripe old age of 25.

The eldest filly is now 3 and coming to the UK in a few months to start work, I am soo excited! I have already sat on her, lunged her in full tack etc.

Both are very laid back and have been excellent to handle.

There are some pictures of YSS and my 3 year old in my albums.
