Yawning.. :O

I have notived over the last couple of days my neddy has been yawning a lot. I dont want to worry but is this normal or should i be conserned...?

Is he living out? My friends horse has to come in for a sleep, or gets really tired and yawns all the time!!

Sometimes horses yawn when you are teaching them stuff, particularly groundwork and especially when they have to think! If he does it during this I would take it as a sign to stop for the day. Alternatively he could just be tired!

Yawning is also a sign of low grade pain, but if he not got any other symptoms he probably tired

I had one once who had clicked his jaw or something - can't remember the details, it was a long time ago, but it was a vet job. He was an Arab. Mind you, that was absolutely compulsive, he yawned all day. Used to set me off

Mine usually yawns when i take the bridle off after riding. Is this unusual?

My mare does that - she loves a good yawn after being worked. She gurns for her tea as well - not attractive in a lady!
