Well today i had a lesson with andrew gould at his yard in sussex (2hour drive away so 4hour total driving) got there and tacked up and then took rocks into the outdoor school. His first time there so was very spooky snorting the whole time i was warming up then started napping and rearing - felt a lot more confident than last time and just kicked him on and he went forward and rode him through it fine and he didnt try it on again

so really really chuffed with that. Then andrew gave me a lesson and we were working on really getting control over rock, lots and lots of transitions work and it was brilliant - rocks looked stunning and was going beautifully. So really chuffed and sooo glad he reared because it meant i had the oppurtunity to ride him through it in an environment i was confident in and he didnt win yay so happy.
Sorry very self indulgent!!

Scares me too as i have flashbacks of when my last horse fell over backwards on me - which is why its such a huge achievement today to get through it and not panic and take control of the situation!! I never have a problem staying on, just lean forward, but im always scared they're gona go over backwards

yeah thats my worry ... but i supose they wouldnt go over would they if we didnt pull back on the reins ?? would they ??

Ah you'd think that but my last horse had absolutely no rein contact when he was rearing and he just went up so high he lost balance and went over backwards..but he was an exceptional case he had something wrong with his head and aimed to try and go over towards the end of it! scary!
