I will never ever be a slim person, it's just not in my genetics. Always have been the bigger of one of my sister and I, both in height and weight wise despite both my parents being slim. I inherited the big "child bearing hips" that all the women on my dad's side in Croatia have but that the women on my mum's Welsh side don't have :S

Any ways, I ballooned up 14 stone this summer after battling with health issues over the past year with my white blood cells making me ravenously hungry and tired at the same time and then going on holiday. I think I have my blood under control now with careful eating (have to have lots of protein every day).

Now I didn't look too bad as I'm tall and while my horse could happily carry me at that weight (she can carry up to 15 stone with a balanced experienced rider on her), fitness wise I was a mess due to the health issue I had and the extra poundage. Not to mention the fact that my riding habits were starting to be tight and only one pair of jods fit me!!

My OH started doing Parkrun in September and so I decided that enough was enough and started doing it to, albeit, only half of it. For the past month, I've been running 2.5k nearly every day and noticed my fitness vastly improving so decided this Saturday that I'm going to do the full 5k!!! :D I can't run fast due to hip/back problems I've had since I was a teenager but I'm doing it for fitness not speed.

I've also noticed my riding fitness improving and can do more stirrupless and bareback schooling now than I could before.

Unfortunately, weighing myself, the weigh is coming off just ounces at a time so am 13st10 now. My goal is 12 1/2- 13 which is a happy, achievable weight for my body and what I have been most of my life.

Got a shock this morning when I put on my breeches and they felt loose on! the last time I tried these on was August 12, the morning of a show we were going to and they were TIGHT. They actually feel slidey on. I also need to take in the buttons on my riding habit as it was a bit loose on Sunday at our last show. The scale still says no change in weight so goodness knows, maybe it's broken but my clothes are starting to disagree with the scale! :D

Well done you. I know how difficult it is - have recently lost quite a bit of weight but finding it very hard to keep off. It really is a struggle for some of us but I know that lovely feeling when something just slips on!
