Took both the little horses to RL this morning. First off, took Hamlet round the BN on a ticket (he's been having confidence problems recently with jumping) and he made it through to the jump off, which is a first!! However, 2 jumps from end I messed up the stride and knew it was going to be wrong, but was too slow to correct so he shuffled in to it and decided he couldnt jump (with me deciding i could jump it myself, and so landed on his ears!!

). The oxer was huge though, biggest BN i've ever jumped so fair play to him, he jumped 2nd time and flew it.

Then on to my naughty mare, who has been napping for England but seems to have turned over a new leaf!!

Warmed up beautifully and you would never know she was a nappy horse. Went in to the ring, popped round the first phase nice and slowly and then on to the jump off - well, she gave me a fantastic ride and i thought i would practise my angle jumping and so cut a few corners...well, she loved the challenge and we had another clear plus finished 2nd!!! Missed first place by 0.26 of a second!!

Super little horse - feeling quite excited about her!!

My friend and I were discussing today that we MUST do our lorry license so we dont have to rely on the parents all the time to drive - especially with situations like yours happening too often!!

Thanks, it was on the outdoor all weather - rode fantastically well, felt like a trampoline. I just did the BN on both, would have prefered to do disco but dad wanted to get home!!

Oh well done, great DC and 2nd place, so close, but still thats excellent.

Shame about Hammy in the JO but you must be pleased with him, esp if hes been losing his confidence lately.

Thanks BB's - well done to you too for today - where are you going for your PN?

I was really pleased with Hamlet as usually he is a careless SJ, but probably because his confidence isnt rocketing, he is picking his legs up as a bit more spooky! I really didnt help him out as i should have kicked on to give him a bit more impulsion.

See this is why i find sjing hard... esp on the less experience or lacking confidence ones. Winston is a bit the same as Hammy i feel.

Thanks, we are off to Gt Tew next weekend, with any luck we may make it round the sjing and stay in the arena if not, means we will be joining the xc sooner than expected lol

Thats why we went to addington this weekend, if it had gone badly I may have withdrawn after dressage

Where you going next?

Because of the whole nappiness, I decided to put the month aside just to do SJ, as simply cant afford to enter an event, get eliminated in the SJ and not go XC!!

So, next event isnt until last week of June, Eridge - will you be doing that? However, will depend on the ground and how fit she is!!

Good luck for Great Tew - will be waiting to see how you do!!

Sounds like Mare is putting the nappiness behind her

Hi Ally!! Must not speak too soon with her - im under the impresssion that she will always have the nappiness in her, just a case of me being able to dominate her and not letting it through...if that makes sense?

I saw you out hacking today, and both me and Adele commented on how grown up Joe looks - he's really filled out!

How is he going?

Good luck at Eridge, i think youve been very sensible to concentrate on sjing.

After Gt T we are at BCA, Eridge is a bit far for us. We have a break then until July where we will do 2 PAVO classes.
Will go sjing after that tho

Well at least you are getting some good results from her now so you must be doing something right. I'm sure nappiness is always there but like you say its just getting it through to her that you are in charge.

Well Joe is now a full up 16.2hh and is finally starting to look like a fully grown horse. Its about time really as he is now 7

He's working really well though now and we just need to crack on a sort some transport out so we can get out and about, Chelsfield is getting boring
